Inclusive Culture
We promote a corporate culture in which D&I is an integral part of the way we work and do business every day so that we can be innovative and sustainable. We want to create an inclusive environment for our people, our customers, our partners and our communities.
We provide training programmes on inclusive communication, awareness and appreciation of unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, recognition and appreciation of diversity. We want to foster positive behaviours that allow each person to reach their full potential.
Gender
We believe that women should have equal opportunities for achievement at all levels of the organisation and that they should be promoted in a transparent, fair and consistent manner.
Our activities:
- We are committed to increasing the representation of women in leadership positions in order to foster equal professional growth and pay between genders.
- We aim to strengthen our commitment to Sustainable Development Goals 5 (SDG 5) to “achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls”. In fact, since 2021 we have been a member of the UN Global Compact.
- We have set up a certification process as a Gender Equality Company, conducted by an independent third party, the Winning Women Institute, to ensure that companies pay men and women equally for equal work.
We wish to broaden our activities to promote an inclusive culture, also through our partnership with Valore D, the first association of companies promoting gender equality for the growth of companies and the country.
STEM
We believe in talent. We promote the training and placement of young undergraduates and graduates in STEM subjects through free orientation sessions led by BIP colleagues.
Parenthood
Each parent contributes to the education of future generations. We provide support to parents and future parents and we support initiatives for a healthy cohabitation and family and work-life balance.
Disability
We are committed to removing territorial, systemic and cultural barriers to maximise the inclusion of people with disabilities. To do this, we have devised a Group action plan.
LGBT+
Activities to eliminate forms of sexual orientation discrimination and self-discrimination are on the rise. Through the LGBT network, we are working to promote activities that foster the integration and inclusion of all individuals.
Digital Inclusion
A number of virtual experiences aimed at citizens, to learn how to use the new online tools and services offered by the public authority and to reduce the digital divide. The programme is offered free of charge to all citizens.
A project created by BIP, in partnership with the Municipality of Milan, to promote culture and technology skills, in order to make the most of everyday life as new digital citizens.
